All of us at the College are pleased to be part of a campaign that will leave a lasting legacy in the form of a new operating suite for Dundee’s Ninewells Children’s Hospital.
We are sponsoring our very own, individually designed Oor Wullie statue, one of 50 that will be on the Oor Wullie Bucket Trail. The sculptures will be on display in the streets and open spaces of Dundee, and elsewhere for ten weeks this summer.
The Archie Foundation, DC Thomson and Wild in Art are behind the initiative that will unite businesses, communities, artists and schools.
While the 50-sculpture trail is under way in Dundee, ten extra sculptures will set off on an eight-week, national tour across Scotland.
Come September, there will be an exhibition in Dundee before all the sculptures are auctioned with proceeds going to the Children’s Hospital.
“Continuing our close relationships with the local community is very important for us at the College and we believe this is a hugely worthwhile project,” said College Principal and Vice Chancellor, Dr Hossein Godazgar.
“Oor Wullie is a well-loved cartoon character so we are more than happy to be a sponsor in this major campaign for the children’s hospital.”
