About the Speaker:

Dr Cedwyn Fernandes is the Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director of Middlesex University Dubai. Earlier, he was the CEO of IMTDubai. Cedwyn was also the Program Leader MBA with a specialization in Operations & Logistics at Middlesex University Dubai and was ranked #1 MBA by Forbes Middle East. As Chair of Graduate Studies at the University of Wollongong in Dubai, Cedwyn introduced the first MSc in Logistics in the region. Cedwyn has hands on experience in the corporate world with over a decade of experience with Saudi Arabian Airlines and was in charge of international project investments.

He has worked extensively in establishing joint ventures around the world and has been directly involved in setting up systems to enhance productivity of these ventures. Cedwyn is a prominent lecturer and researcher in supply chain issues and is a member of the Consultative Committee of the Supply Chain and Logistics Group. He has been a judge at the SCATA supply chain awards, the LOG ME and Airline Business Awards and is a regular speaker at industry events. Cedwyn was responsible for organising the prestigious Supply Chain Executive Forum. Cedwyn’s research interests are in the areas of supply chain management and macroeconomics. Cedwyn’s paper on Dubai’s potential as an integrated logistics hub has been published in the Journal of Applied Business Research.

2005 – Finalist, Dubai Economic Research Award, sponsored by Dubai Economic Department. Ranked among top seven out of 158 competitive papers. Presented in Award Ceremony.
2004 – Best Paper Award. The European Applied Business Research Conference, Edinburgh, Scotland, June 14-18.
